Moral capitalism

Capitalism is not just about people exchanging butter for eggs in local markets, as has been the case for millennia. The essence of capitalism is the creation of value, through the mobilization of human energy and ingenuity to an extent never seen before in the history of mankind, in order to create a level of prosperity for ordinary people that would have dazzled and shocked even the richest and most powerful kings, sultans and emperors of the past. Capitalism is about breaking down the long-encircled, privilege-based systems of power and domination and opening up career opportunities for talent. Capitalism is about replacing violence with persuasion and envy with fulfillment. The essence of capitalism is everything that made life possible, including your life. (Tom G. Palmer) The existence of the rule of law is absolutely necessary. People must have rules that apply equally to all, and that must be enforced by a justice system that has this goal in mind. The primary goal is the equal application of laws to everyone in such a way that neither certain groups nor others have special privileges. I've read more arguments against free market capitalism than most of its opponents, and I think I can generally represent their position better than they do because I know it better.
