The War of the Third Reich examines the German military machine, the military leadership, and the Luftwaffe in three separate sections. Hitler unleashed the largest force in world history in Europe in 1939, yet failed to achieve his goals. The first part, Hitler's War Machine, examines the role of the land army and the navy and explains why they failed. However, Hitler fought the war not only with military force, but also with economic measures, means of propaganda and coercion, technical development, and methods of politics.
